Yes I know its a newbie question, but I have read conflicting responses on the thread. All i remember is this:

- in the beta testing a wideband was required.

- Custom tunes Do not require a wideband 02.

Can anyone confirm if a Wideband is needed before you go to a dyno tuner? Being the first person to buy from Surgeline tuning in Portland they said I had $450 of free tuning. So I may as well take them up on that.

Luckily for us, the primary

Luckily for us, the primary o2 sensor in the civic si is a partial wideband sensor. so in otherwords we can read our AFRs just fine but there arent "perfect". they jump around invalues a little. like cruising with my car tuned for 14.7afr the AP may jump from 14.1-15.1 but really the AFRs are more like 14.4-14.9...

WB02 would make life easier though...

When you go to surgeline, Tim

When you go to surgeline, Tim will use his wb02 to tune the car. So you don't need to worry about that.

As far as tuning yourself, you can tune fuel consistently through 3rd gear pulls, and a brief cooldown period between runs. Steve (BV1) has confirmed with his own wb02 that our primary 02 is pretty much dead on with AFR's in 3rd gear WOT runs.

WBO2

Was watching a video and they said WBO2 needed no calibration!! Now does this mean to install it it needs no cal or that it does all the calibration for you? From this post it would seem that the latter is incorrect. How great are the benefits for installing it if i have no clue what im looking for to make corrections?

A wideband is really for

A wideband is really for piece of mind. So that you can monitor things while driving. Having the software datalog from the wideband is another story. Getting this to work with Cobb may be difficult. I have it working pretty easily on Flashpro tho.
